What is Yoga ?

People practice yoga to feel more connected to themselves and the world around them
Yoga is an ancient Indian Sanskrit word translating in english to mean Connection.
Often described by yogis as connecting body and mind, this physical and mental discipline engages the breath, mental focus, a series of different body positions, reflection on one’s behavior and meditation to create balance throughout all the systems of the body; producing experiences of relaxation, inner strength and mental clarity.
Yoga is used :
• to acquire general fitness and a sense of well being
• to heal a great many physical and mental illnesses
• to manage anxiety and depression
• as a injury prevention / management program and foundational movement practice for many sports and other physical activities.
Yoga refines the focus of “one” self in the world by enabling us to embody a reality undefined by thought processes or sensory input.

This has been described by Jungian Theory as the ” Subtle Signal ”

In all our acroyoga classes, we integrate yoga philosophy, functional breathing exersizes and asana into our practice.
