I was reflecting upon the amount of times the word ‘risk’ was mentioned in my parent/ coach meeting yesterday with my youngest son’s soccer coach, Matt O’ Neil . He attends the International Football School, Kariong, Central Coast NSW.
Risk is defined as a situation involving exposure to a threat or danger, where something unpleasant or unwelcome could happen.
And it got me thinking, these are the moments when life challenges us to problem solve in relation to a very personal situation and find ways of emotionally, mentally and physically coping.
These are opportunities for growth.
The more we are in choice and are able to see and experience our difficulties as problem solving, strategising opportunities, the more we will embrace all of life , face our obstacles with confidence and develop resilience to take on bigger challenges…
Where there is risk, there is also opportunity for us to think deeply ….
My son Tane is a deep thinking young lad and i trust that, with the right amount of love and support, the challenges he faces in soccer training will help him to grow into a resilient and very resourceful young adult.
In Acroyoga classes we use the challenges presented to us to cultivate skills in problem solving, deep listening, supporting others and ourselves, efficient communication.
