Humans are giant processing units, how we receive and respond to signals in our environment, determines our behaviour and the shape of our interactions and lives.
In acro, when we force or block, we create pressure.
When we contain and offer equal resistance, we utilise dynamic tension to direct flow and ease of movement.
How we “ meet “ the person we are working with, to facilitate a sense of flow within our movement together is important.
Utilising a combination of mindset and body mechanics comes into play.
From the cellular level, the mechanics that create partner acro movement is a dynamic interaction between how we receive information and the actions that we coordinate in response.
If the interaction is one of balance, cohesion occurs in the body.
In partner acro, we are receiving information and signals thru the connection points with another body and responding back to it.
If this interaction involves blocking or forcing – there is less opportunity to produce a sense of flow within the movement.
When we utilise containment and equal resistance, dynamic tension produces more possibility for ease in our movement, as well as explosive power.
Body Placement, Bone Stacking, Timing, Breath are also contributing factors that support flow and a sense of “being in sync” in partner acro movements.
