The Science of Positive Psychology

I have always made mention in my classes that “At any given moment you have the choice where to place your attention”. Now i understand the neuroscience behind the importance of this statement. Neurotransmitters only fire at what you pay attention to. You could have the most amazing things happening in your life and if you choose to focus on thoughts that produce feelings of sadness, frustration – this is the what your brain and body believe is your total experience. And the more you carve out these pathways in the circuitry of your neurology, the more entrenched this pathway becomes and the more this thinking becomes part of who you are and how you perceive yourself and your life.
At any given moment directing your attention to what can be enjoyed right now, and well as being grateful for what you have in life changes the architecture of the brain.
This is a constant practice. A discipline.
